Editor's review
This is a video converter tool on the Mac.
Prism is a video file converter for Mac OS X. It can convert many different types of video files into AVI, MOV, 3GP, WMV and many more. All video formats that have a DirectShow based codec can be converted with this tool. If you can play the video file using Windows Media Player, you can convert it using Prism. This is a batch processor. It could save you quite a bit of hassle by processing multiple files at a time. The interface is well laid out. Controls are easily accessible. All you would need to do is add a set of files to be converted and select the output format and a single click on the convert button gets the job done. The interface has a previewer that lets you make sure you have the right file and also ensure the input quality is right. As the batch is getting converted you get indications of the progress of the process, there is a progress bar indicating progress of the input batch overall too.
If you had one or two files to be converted you could simply use the right click menu to convert a file at a time. Prior to the conversion process starts you are able to set resolution and frame rates of the output files. You can also set compression/encoder rates of output files. A specific size for the output video could be specified. Direct ripping from DVDs is possible.
